Louis Round Wilson (27 December 1876-10 December 1979) was born in Lenoir, N.C., and, in the 1890s, attended Davenport College in Lenoir; Haverford College in Haverford, Pa.; and the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C., from which he graduated in May 1899. After teaching for a few years, Wilson embarked on a long and distinguished career in librarianship, library science education, and university administration.
